Running Pace Calculator

Pace ⇄ time for any distance. Edit any cell — the table rebuilds.

DistanceTime

A flat conversion — as if you held this exact pace the whole way. For your real finish time with heat, wind and elevation, use the Race tab.

A pace table: distances from 100 m to the marathon on the left, the time for each on the right. Every cell is editable — type a time into one row and the whole column recomputes at that pace, along with the speed in km/h. No more working out "3 km in 11 minutes — what's that per 400 m".

Built for intervals: your coach gave a rep pace or a 1000 m time — type it in and see the splits from 100 to 1000 m and how many track laps that is. The maths is flat: time = pace × distance, no fatigue and no weather. For a real prediction over a long race, use the race calculator, which adjusts for heat, wind and elevation.

FAQ

How is this different from the race calculator?

This is flat arithmetic: time = pace × distance. Handy for intervals — you hold a target pace and check the lap split. The race calculator answers a different question: how long you'll actually take over a long distance, given fade, heat, wind and elevation.

Why don't the 400 m and 10 km times from one pace match reality?

Because in real life you don't hold one pace across all distances — a 400 m is run far faster than marathon pace. The table shows "if you held exactly this pace", which is what you want for planning reps at a set speed, not for predicting a result.

What are the "laps"?

A standard track lap is 400 m. The 400, 800, 1200 and 1600 m rows show the lap count so you can check your watch each lap during a workout.
